Once again, been awhile...

I know... I should update more. LOL.

Anyway, here are some recent ties I've done for you all to enjoy!

Above is the lovely Lorelai in a modified butterfly harness. I had to change it in such a way to eliminate the crotch rope, so that she could remain accessible to me. This was a full access play tie.

And this is why you want to eliminate the crotch rope for play ties...;-)

Next up, we have Lorelai in a Dragonfly Arm Sleeve:

Not a bad tie overall, but it slips and shifts during play. This tie is going to need some modification for play and actual security so that it doesn't have that problem. Let me put my mind to it and I'll post pics when I work it out. At the very least it's pretty and elegant in appearance.

And last but not least, we have Lorelai obce more in a redux of the classic Japanese arm and chest harness:

I really only made one modification to the original. The very start of this tie is with the wrists and if it's not done exactly right, the submissive can simply pull free. I used a lark's head and some additional twists and wraps to keep it from tightening and proceeded as dictated by the traditional design of the tie. It is easy to see that this tie leaves the submissive's openings all completely accessible, yet keeps the submissive completely secured and helpless.

So anyway, that's it for now. Anyone with feedback please feel free to comment.

Wow, I gotta find more time for this.

Well, it's been a good long while since I last updated this blog. It's not that I haven't done anything with rope lately, I have. And it's not that I haven't taken pictures of the work. I have. It's just that there's so much other stuff going on in my life that I haven't really blogged much. No time for it. BUT-- I'll bring you up to speed here on my latest endeavors.

Back in my second post I showed you this girl:

Her name is Dawni, and she has modeled for me many times now and I recently found some of her earliest ties done by yours truly:

Recently we got together to shoot video and pictures of a new style I've played with, "Inazuma Nawa," or "Lightning Bondage," developed here in Oregon by Noble Manqué and Bradley Yitzhak. The images turned out stunning:

Now, due to the fact that I am getting together quite the collection of curvy, chubby and BBW ladies to model my ropework for me as I learn, I have started releasing galleries for sale as well as making instructional videos on how to tie the various rigs, or at least the most common ones that tend to intimidate the uninitiated. The videos can be bought at My clips4sale store and image galleries can be purchased at My images4sale store.

Something else I've experimented with is taking what I know of basic shibari and giving it an artistic twist, such as the Mermaid pictures of Lorelai, and Myzeray's fallen angel pictures. But this got me thinking: What about making bondage look like clothing? So one night at an event I dressed Myzeray up in 50 feet of rope and five yards of lace, arranged for an evening gown-like effect. This was the result:

As you can see, for the most part it worked. I will be devising other Bondage Gowns in the future, and you will of course be able to see the results here.

Been awhile since I updated this thing...

Guess I should bring you up to speed on my progress, eh? I'll admit I don't have the time to practice my knots and ties as often as I'd like, but I assure you the lack of updates does not mean I have lost interest. I have a full-time job and a wonderful relationship with two lovely ladies, a Fire Performance troupe to run, plus tons of side projects in leatherworking to keep my very, very busy.

I have gone through the books a bit and have been, when I have the time, attempting to duplicate the ties represented in them. I am finding Midori's book a bit less helpful, as hand-drawn diagrams in black-on-white linework with no shading, textures, or depth tend to confuse and confound me. It's the same reason I hate trying to learn from my leather braiding books. The Two Knotty Boys' books are turning out to be far more helpful, since their work is beautifully photographed, even in their first book which was shot in black-and-white. NOTE: Please do not take this to mean I find no value in Midori's "The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage." I just find the diagrams to be less helpful in understanding the ties. I HAVE duplicated three of the ties from her book thus far:

The Simple Open Leg Crab:

I like this one because it leaves your partner "Open" to plenty of sexual possibilities... I have chosen here to combine it with one of my favorites from my previous experience with rope, severe breast bondage in a hybrid Japanese and Western style, featuring breast bars. Model: Lorelai

Also with Lorelai, the Arm and Chest:

Continuing with Lorelai, I chose to get more artistic with the full-length version of the Tortoise body harness:

I saw this tie after Lorelai had just gotten a tattoo designed, depicting her as a mermaid... Inspiration took the wheel. We'll be revisiting this idea when we have a better location and props to shoot with.

Now on to Myzeray, of whom I have fewer new photos to show you, but this is largely due to the fact that I see her only on weekends. The work I have done with her is freeform, usinf knots taught by the Two Knotty Boys:

Inspiration for the "Fallen Angel" style of the pictures started out intended as a fairy. But the extreme amount of lace left over after tying her rig made more sense splayed out as angel wings. This idea came to me at the same time as the Mermaid concept. Again, we will be revisiting this as I have time.

And coming back to Lorelai, I have another from Two Knotty Boys.
I give you: The Claw.

I love the access this one gives, though it is easy to slip out of when tied as presented in the book. I personally intend to start slipping loops through the bend in the arm near the elbow to keep the last loop from being slipped off the elbow and the tie escaped/ruined. Also, to present the look in the photo,it relies on the submissive holding their arms in this postition. I prefer to leave some excess at the end of the tie and knot the ends together behind the head to facilitate holding the arms up and out of the way of more... Exploratory options.

All in all though. I am finding both authors' books greatly helpful in my pursuit of this artform, and I look forward to bringing you my next chapter. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE

So before I get too caught up in what I've done so far with rope and with my studies, allow me to credit my current sources-- my bibliography if you will. You see, when it comes to books to learn from, while there are literally thousands of how-to books on knots, bondage and the like, there are two entities who are considered THE authorities on the subject, at least here in my neck of the woods. I do not mean they are local mind you, just that everyone in my area seems to recommend these people's books. SO... Um, who am I to to ignore such advice from so many of the same sources?

The first of the authors I would like to mention is Midori. She published the book "The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage." It is considered the first book any Shibari student should read, as the methods used therein are very much traditional, and classic ties are covered throughout.

So the next author I would like to credit is actually two... Two Knotty Boys, to be specific. The two of them have done something I've tossed about in my head for a couple years now-- Incorporating Chinese knotting into shibari, to create an even MORE artistic rope bondage style. I had wanted to do this for some time now, but found the books on the subject of Chinese knotting either too droll and boring to hole my interest or filled with diagrams that a psychiatrist could use for a fucking rorshach test. The first hing you'll notice in teh books published by Two Knotty Boys is the photo breakdowns they have for the knots are pretty easy to understand. I found myself learning knots surprisingly easily thanks to them. These guys not only went eclectic on this subject, they did it with style and humor... You won't find the books they've published, "Showing You the Ropes" and "Back on the Ropes," the least bit dry or dull.

Not only that, but they've got a YouTube channel on which they cover how various knots are tied:

Where I'm starting off at:

The following images are all examples of my ropework to date, in no particular order. These pieces were tied before I decided to devote more time to dedicated study of the art. These images contain nudity and feature women of varied body types from plump to obese. These women are my friends and loved ones. I never bought in to the notion that beauty only comes in small packages.

In future postings, credit will be given to the model. In the meantime, forgive me, it's been an exhausting week.
